Welcome to Rachel Lawrie Therapies – a supportive, confidential counselling
practice specialising in relationship and couple counselling for couples,
individuals and families across the Hunter Region.
Based near Maitland and offering both in-person and online sessions, I provide a trusted space where you can safely explore emotional challenges, rebuild trust, and improve your relationships.

I have worked extensively with clients from Maitland, Singleton, Port Stephens, and surrounding Hunter Valley towns, and understands the unique pressures faced by individuals and couples in regional communities. My work integrates evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Developmental Model, Family Systems approaches, Self compassion approach, trauma-informed practice, and attachment theory.

Rachel Lawrie is a qualified and compassionate relationship therapist offering expert support for individuals, couples, and families. With a Graduate Diploma from UNE of Counselling and specialist training in trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches,
Rachel brings warmth, integrity, and a strong clinical foundation to her work.
Rachel supports clients across Maitland, Singleton, Port Stephens, and the broader Hunter Valley. Her practice is rooted in the belief that connection is at the heart of healing. She helps couples navigate challenges such as emotional disconnection, frequent conflict, infidelity, and life transitions such as parenting or loss. She supports emotional regulation, grief and loss, and deeper self-awareness with individuals.
Rachel’s approach is practical, person-centred, and emotionally safe. She works collaboratively with each client to identify unhelpful relational patterns, build emotional resilience, and restore healthy communication. Whether attending counselling alone, focussing on family dynamics or as a couple, you will be met with empathy and respect.
